I am working on a long-term project where I repeatedly draw chalk-lines in the natural or the built environment, on sidewalks or pavements, to illustrate the notion of passage. I capture these in situation actions using grids or chronophotography techniques, such as serial color images superposition, which allow me to condense a temporal sequence into one picture. By showing my work as a horizontal series, like a relay race, I want the viewer to perceive the ephemeral, the passage from A to B and my intention to commemorate spaces and territories. The gesture of drawing a line on the ground relates to land art (Francis Alÿs, Richard Long, Walter De Maria and others) and it inspired me to built this photography project. My images show the “before" and the “after" and reconfigure time.
